Justin Sayfie is a founding shareholder of Sayfie Law Firm. As an attorney and government relations consultant, he represents clients in a variety of industries, including land development, health care, education and transportation.
Prior to co-founding Sayfie Law Firm in August 2001, Justin worked as a senior policy advisor, spokesman and chief speechwriter for Governor Jeb Bush. In these different roles, Justin assisted Governor Bush with development of public policy initiatives and legislative strategy, management of Florida’s thirteen executive state agencies and press relations.
Prior to joining Governor Bush's Administration, from 1995 to 1998, Justin practiced environmental and land use law at the Miami office of Greenberg Traurig. There he represented property owners seeking development and environmental approvals from state and local regulatory authorities.
In June 2007, President George W. Bush appointed Justin to the President’s Commission on White House Fellows. The Commission is responsible for selecting participants in the White House Fellows Program. In August 2007, Justin served as an American delegate for the American Council on Germany’s Young Leader Conference in Berlin and Munich. In 2005, U.S. Senator Mel Martinez appointed Justin as the chairman of the Southern District Conference of the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission. From 2001-2004, Justin served as an appointee of Gov. Bush to the Miami-Dade County Judicial Nominating Commission, and in 2003-2004, he served as a Co-Chair of the Commission. Justin currently serves as a Trustee of the Museum of Discovery and Science, a member of the Board of Directors of the Broward Workshop, and on the Board of Trustees for the Florida House on Capitol Hill.
Justin publishes an internet website called the Sayfie Review (www.sayfiereview.com), which the St. Petersburg Times called "the online bible for Florida political junkies.” He also publishes the Sayfie News (www.sayfienews.com) which focuses on national political news. In October 2006, SayfieReview.com became the Florida affiliate for the National Journal's Hotline Political Network. Justin has appeared as a commentator on Florida politics on BBC World News America, NBC6 – WTVJ and WPBT Channel 2's "Issues in the Media."
Justin received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1994. He was a member of and published an article in the University of Miami Law Review. In 1990, Justin graduated with a degree in American Government from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Carole Ann Hamer manages operations for The Sayfie Law Firm, coordinating the firm’s insurance policies, bookkeeping, billing, human resources, supplies, travel, and IT services. She organizes and attends fundraising events on behalf of the firm, coordinating receptions and luncheons with candidates, staff, and contributors. She works with representatives from local, state and federal governments on compliance requirements for contribution/expenditure reports and lobbyist registration.
In November 2009, Carole Ann completed her degree in paralegal studies from National Paralegal College. Prior to joining The Sayfie Law Firm, she worked at a luxury yacht company as a writer for the website and brochure, and as executive assistant to the president. She regularly worked with captains and owners providing shore side support, as well as onboard for international trips. She worked as an executive assistant in the corporate offices of Dreams, Inc. for the CEO, CFO, and vice president. Carole Ann began her professional career while studying English at Middle Tennessee State University working for Maurices, Inc., specializing in human resources, management, and excellent customer service.
She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants, National Notary Association, and National Association of Professional Women.
